Biomedical Device Researches:
Medical device technology is growing fast in worldwide. As the Ministry of Health predicted for the next 10 year, biomedical research budget will increase rapidly. In this manner, for recovering the necessity, institutions about biomedical device research and development are being opened in Turkey. Nevertheless despite the whole prospering models, scientists, institutes to prevent this budget spend increase, biomedical device manifacturing have to be increased much more. It is really important for Turkey to catch this pace of inrease to control the health expense and quality of health care in the best way as possible. More biomedical device research and having the ability to turning these researches into manufactured products might help Turkey in this cause. Microfluidic chips’s most probable usage area is biomedical devices. And Turkey has to start researches in order to become advantageous manufacturing these devices and having an important role about this field in future.
Point of Care Testing (POCT);
Point of care testing, to simply describe it; in any case or anywhere ( hospital laboratories, emergencies, polyclinics, hospitalized patient services, clinics, home) performed without any special personel or equipment required, applied at or near the patient site and it is such a diagnostic test that help to understand any changes needed about the patient care. Another way, invitro diagnostic (IVD) tests that can be done no laboratory or personel needed. By these tests you can easily send necessary information about the patient to the doctor. In POCT the most advantageous thing is time. Because you do not need to deliver samples to a laboratory or do any pre-work about them, these tests give immidiate results. The importance of these methods are non-negotiable in times of quickness is life dependent. These days on IVD sector’s 30% is point of care testing.
